Les Sentiers de Grande Randonnée are the national network of hiking trails and footpaths across France. They are a network of some 35 000 km of marked walks across France. At De Tout Coeur Limousin we are very close to the GR 4 and GR46. GR 4 is the Alps-Atlantic trail, which runs from Grasse, in the Alps, to Royan, on the Gironde estuary. GR 46 (which passes by our house) is the trail from Tours to Toulouse.
A lovely way to spend a few hours, take a picnic and a sturdy pair of boots and your away. Or for the more serious hiker you can spend days and weeks exploring France off the beaten track on the GR routes. There are maps and route plans available at tourist information offices or online.
