springtime in the Limousin: the Lac de Vassiviere, Eric le chien, sunlight in the forest and blossoming trees in the garden

The spring is a beautiful time here in the Limousin, and a lovely time to visit. The trees are in bud and starting to blossom, they start to 'hum' as the bees gather to collect pollen from the flowers. I love to see the sunlight through the trees in the forest. We are enjoying lots of trips to Lac de Vassiviere too with our beloved Eric le chien. He loves to chase sticks and stones along the lakeshore and bark at the water. Looking forward to following the season over the coming weeks. Happy springtime.

  9. Springtime is my favourite time of year. I've only been to Lac Vassiviere once, last September when we cycled around, in rain so heavy it was running down the roads. However it was still beautiful and the autumn colours was just starting to appear on the trees. Must go back! #AllAboutFrance

  10. The peaceful ~ beautiful ~ countryside is not the face of France I've spent much time in before . . . but now that is going to change! :) Thanx for these photos!

  11. Your photos of the lake are always lovely. Reading this on 19 May (sorry, life got hectic!) spring is pretty much over on the Riviera and summer has started! Summer flowers like oleander are out and spring ones have finished. It lasted so little time. Thanks for linking to #AllAboutFrance
