Sing from the Heart - singing holidays in Limousin, France

Just a few photos from a wonderful week of singing here at De Tout Coeur Limousin. Our 'Sing from the Heart' singing holiday (25 July-1 August 2015) welcomed singers of all abilities, ages and styles for a creative and fun week in the heart of rural Limousin, SW France. Here are just a few pics from the rehearsals and final performance night. So wonderful to see such smiling, singing faces and a real pleasure to be part of the week.

We rehearsed from Sunday to the Thursday with the performance night being held on Friday night - to a supportive and friendly audience made up of friends, family and neighbours from the local community. We sang an eclectic selection of 5 group songs - including 'Horse with No Name' by America, 'Don't Stop' by Fleetwood Mac, 'California Dreaming' by the Mamas and Papas and 'Lightning Bolt' by Jake Bugg. Those who wanted to sing a solo were also encouraged and supported to do so (but there was no pressure to do this). For some performers this was the first time they had ever sung in public! A testament to their bravery and the fabulous support of the group and friendly audience. Feel the fear and do it anyway!

The solo songs by group members ranged from a beautiful acoustic version of David Guetta and Sia's Titanium to a rocky skiffle version of Moondance by Van Morrison.

As well as singing everyday we also had time to show our guests around the beautiful scenery and Lac de Vassiviere. We also enjoyed a trip to the market day at Felletin, as well as regular walks to the lake and in the surrounding countryside of the Millevaches Natural Park.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part and joined us either as a singer or audience member. You helped create a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable week! We are looking forward to the next singing holiday already.
