How Reiki Works

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique for relaxation and stress relief.  It is a natural energy therapy that promotes holistic balance and healing, and can benefit the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body and can be helpful for numerous conditions from back pain and insomnia to depression, stress & anxiety. Reiki works alongside other complementary therapies or medication/medical treatment.

How reiki works

Reiki is administered by 'laying on hands' in a series of positions over the body and in the energy field/aura. Reiki is the 'life force energy' that flows through us all. If this is low then we are more susceptible to illness, disease and feelings of stress. If our energy (or ki) is high and balanced then we are more able to experience health and well-being.

Reiki is a gentle, yet powerful healing system. It addresses both the symptom and the cause of any disease. The reiki practitioner does not seek to diagnose. The reiki goes where it needs to go for the best effect and use.

Reiki flows through the practitioner to the client but is not created by the practitioner. The practitioner acts as a conductor and catalyst of the reiki to be used and absorbed by the client.

Reiki helps to correct the energy balance of the recipient and in doing so promotes their own self-healing process. It offers no magical cure, and everyone reacts in their own way to a reiki treatment. It is not unusual for people to laugh, cry, fall asleep, and feel warm or cold. We will all have our unique experience of reiki and how it works and manifests in us.

Reiki goes wherever it is needed in the body and energy field. As well as being useful for treating all living things it can also be sent to distant events and places, both past and future.
